The key to achieving your horse breeding goals
Centuries of horse breeding, selecting (related) mares and stallions with the desired traits, have led to the evolution of the performance rodeo horse industry.
Just a few years ago mares were artificially inseminated fresh, on-site at the stallion’s location.
Then came the introduction...
MareShare commits to providing platinum recipient mares for lease and premier embryo transfer services for implantation. It's true what they say, a recipient mare contributes no physical DNA to the foal it carries. But, she is more than just uterus and milk. A recipient mare can determine-
Horse owners or breeders; reproductive procedures (AI/flush or ICSI) can be performed at the Repro Facility or Veterinary Practice you prefer.
MareShare will simplify the process, provide a tailored experience and increase success rates.
The quality of your recipient mare(s) is an important consideration to make before breeding. Epigenetics refers to scientific research of how environmental influences affect the expression of genes. The genetics of a foal derives from the DNA of stallion and donor mare. Studies suggest the influences during development, such as recipient mare health, nutrition and temperament or negative circumstances such as environmental toxins or stress may affect gene expression. Gene expression determines how much or how little the DNA/genes are passed down from the stallion and donor mare. Recipient disease, stressful circumstances or even negative experiences post foaling might impact the success of the process.
If you're planning to breed a champion, if you're looking to maximize the return on your reproduction investments, you've come to the right place.

Located in Southeast Idaho, the cornerstone of our business is the selection and management of our recipient mare herd. The right recipient is essential for the success of any breeding program. We evaluate size, age and grade. Other factors to consider include nutrition, disease management, quality of the embryo as well as the age of the donor mare.
Our recipient mares are tailored to address the specific needs of the horse owner, donor mare and future foal. Mares are chosen for their gentle nature, ability to accept the foal, provide access to milk and early owner imprinting to your new horse.
We grade our mares evaluating things such as, temperament and interaction with people. Pregnancy can be affected by advanced age (donor mare and recip), inadequate nutrition, medications and the presence of pathology disease. Our mares undergo strict biosecurity protocols including early quarantine and herd acclimation. They are placed on a customized nutrition plan and receive full vaccinations before they are released for equine reproduction. Rigorous efforts are made to ensure the safety of our horses and the foals they carry. We take pride in the care of our horses, ensuring they are well-fed, hydrated, and happy.
When an embryo is produced, you'll be given the option to hand select (virtually or in-person) from 4 of our recipient mares matching your donor mares criteria. You'll be given the option to ship us your embryos or simply lease a recipient.
